Summary

Classical path length based semantic similarities computes the similarity between a pair of concepts of an ontology as the minimum inter-link distance between those concepts, omitting the rest of taxonomical knowledge. In this report, it is introduced an ontology-based semantic similarity, which considers the amount of shared and non shared taxonomical knowledge involving a pair of concepts to asses the semantic similarity. In this report it is presented the triangle inequality demonstration of the proposed measure.
