-Francesc Serratosa is a Full Professor of computer science at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona, Catalonia (Spain). He was born in Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain) in 1967. He received his computer science engineering degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona) in 1993 and he received his Ph.D. from the same University in 2000.

- He is the principal researcher of the AGAUR research group 2021SGR-00111: “ASCLEPIUS: Smart Technology for Smart Healthcare” and he is currently leading two European projects in the Universitat Rovira i Virgili:  SbD4Nano (H2020-NMBP-TO-IND-2019-862195) and NanoInformaTIX (H2020-NMBP-14-2018-814426).

-He is active in research in the areas of Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence applied to Biotechnology and Aquaculture. He has advised eleven PhD thesis. He has published more than 170 papers and he is an active reviewer in research projects, congresses and journals. He is the author of 4 patents.

-He appears in the list of the 2% most influential researchers in the world, presented in “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators, Plos Biology, 2020” and “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators”, Elsevier BV, 2021

- He is giving classes on Biometrics, Computer forensics and Entrepreneurship at the Master's Degree in Computer Security Engineering and Artificial Intelligence (MESIIA) at Universitat Rovira i Virgili.
