
Francesc Serratosa was born in Barcelona in 1967. He received his computer science
engineering degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona) in 1993. Since
then, he has been active in research in the areas of computer vision, robotics,
structural pattern recognition and biometrics. He received his Ph.D. from the
same university in 2000. He is currently associate professor of computer
science at the Universitat Rovira
i Virgili (Tarragona,
Catalonia, Spain). He has published more than 70 papers and he is an active
reviewer in some congresses and journals. He is the coordinator of the PhD
course on Computer Science and Security at the Universitat
Rovira i Virgili. He has been involved in more than 10 research
projects and since 2005 he has been the principal investigator of a 5th
year research project sponsored by ENRESA related with nuclear decommissioning.
He is the author of 3 patents and he is a referee of public research projects.
