Bio: Maria Ferré is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Engineering and Mathematics at Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV). She received a M.Sc. in Computer Engineering in 1990 and her PhD in 2004 both from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). She has actively participated in management positions and has been secretary of the ETSE (2005-2013) and head of the Degree in Computer Engineering (2013-2017). Actually, she is secretary of the department. Her research interests have evolved from computer graphics and visualization of medical data to projects where the aim is the application of information technology in health. She has participated in telerehabilitation projects for cognitive abilities, in tele-accompaniment projects for family of premature children and she is currently working on the development of mobile and web applications to improve mental health in different collectives, non-professional caregivers of chronic patients and health professionals. |
