Summary
Elektro-Slovenija is a system transmission operator and the only electric power transmission company in Slovenia. Market Monitoring Sector (MMT) is analyzing data about electricity transmission across Europe using very dispersed and various data sources. Organization, storage, management and use of data is based on the technology of Excel tables, which has a number of negative consequences. The MMT management has therefore decided to thoroughly update the information support of business processes by establishing a data warehouse. The data warehouse was implemented using MS SQL Server 2005 database and SQL Server BI Development Studio tools. During the development, we encountered several problems and challenges.
