Summary
Starting from a concrete combinatorial problem on directed graphs, I will introduce Koszul algebras. A (commutative) Koszul algebra is an algebra of the form $k[X_1,ldots,X_n]/I$, where $k$ is a field and $I$ is generated by homogeneous quadratic forms, such that $k$ has a linear $A$-resolution. Lots of examples (and counterexamples) will be given.
