Summary
Since the last decades, images, videos and 3D models are more and more easy to made, easy to access. It presents the advantage of having more information for defining an object but it also induces difficulties to combine all these sources of information. Moreover, more and more companies want to exploit all this data for automation of various processes. In this presentation, some contributions for merging data information for matching will be illustrated in the field of detection (road cracks, insects) and recognition (urban scenes, urban furnitures).
Short CV: Sylvie Chambon received the Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Toulouse, France, working on “Colour stereoscopic matching with occlusions.” From 2006 to 2007, she was a Postdoctoral Re-searcher with Télécom Paris, working on in multimodal registration of medical images. From 2008 to 2011, she was a Permanent Researcher with IFSTTAR (the French institute of science and technology for transport, development and networks), working on segmentation of thin structures and, in particular, road cracks. Since September 2011, she has been an Assistant Professor with the Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse (IRIT), INP-ENSEEIHT, University of Toulouse. Her research interest includes matching, feature detection and tracking, and segmentation of thin structures and urban scenes.
