Summary
Agent technology has long been proposed as an important technology for development of applications for open environments such as the public Internet, electronic market places or even large-scale corporate data networks. With new technologies (Web Services, Semantic Web, GRID computing, ...) we might begin to apply agents in truely open environments.
This talk will give an introduction to possible uses of Agents in open systems, discuss their relevance to emerging technologies and describe possible challenges.
Specificially we will cover the experiences and applications from the Agentcities initiative which acts as a global testbed for interoperability and composition of automated service components.
