-Francesc Serratosa was born in Barcelona, Catalonia
(Spain) in 1967. He received his computer science engineering degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona) in 1993. He received his Ph.D. from the
same University in 2000. He is currently a full professor of computer science
at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili at Tarragona, Catalonia (Spain).
-Since 1993, he has been active in research in the
areas of Computer Vision, Robotics, Structural Pattern Recognition, Machine
Learning and Biometrics. He has published more than 100 papers and he is an
active reviewer in some congresses and journals. He is giving classes on
computer vision and biometrics at Universitat Rovira i Virgily
and Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.
- He is the coordinator of the Joint Master of Safety
and Technology of Information and communications at Universitat
Rovira i Virgili (MISTIC).
He has been the coordinator of the PhD course on Computer Science and Security
at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili from 2006 to 2012. He has been involved in more
than 10 research projects and since 2005 he has been the principal investigator
of a 9th year research project sponsored by ENRESA related with nuclear
decommissioning. He is the author of 3 patents and he is a referee of public
research projects. He is the principal researcher of the Research group:
Sensorial Systems Applied to the Industry (SSAI).
